Description
As a special touch I added some poppy seed oil and some ground poppy seeds.
Some geografical areas have specialized in milking the juice from opium poppies and turning this into a drug. Whole regions solely live of this plant.
Unfortunately.
Because it has devastating consequences.
However, if you want to get the tasty, nutty poppy oil, you simply press the ripe seeds of the poppy. This, too, may contain certain opiates; but in our case, it is a low-morphine cultivation of a gray poppy.
So don’t worry that you would be on cloud nine after showering with O & Poppy… but freshly showered, it’s certainly good to face everyday life and its surprises. In any case, “O & Poppy” does its best to give you support in terms of concentration and inspiration along the way.
On the skin
Poppy seed oil is quickly absorbed into our skin, giving it a smooth feeling. Due to the high content of vitamin E, this oil supports the binding and absorption of moisture in human skin. This makes it elastic, resulting in a fresh and youthful skin appearance.
A look back
Until the Second World War, poppies were also cultivated in Switzerland. After 1945, rapeseed and sunflower overtook the poppy in terms of oil production, as the processing of the small poppy seeds is relatively complex and the harvest quantity is small, in contrast to sunflower or rapeseed.
For some years now, there are again companies in Switzerland that produce this valuable and, above all, tasty edible oil. It is not entirely inexpensive, but it is worth keeping a small bottle on hand for salad sauces.
