Anwendung
Important
Only reach into the jar with washed hands; otherwise it’s better to use a spatula or a clean butter knife. With unwashed and especially wet hands bacteria and fungal spores get into the butter and can accelerate the degradation process (rancidity) of the contained oils.
Application
Applying this mixture onto moist skin allows the butter to penetrate the different skin layers.
Storage
Oils are 180° different from a natural soap: a well formulated natural soap becomes milder, more foamy and better with age.
A plant oil, on the other hand, reacts with oxygen, bacteria, viruses and fungal spores floating around and becomes rancid over time.
The more unsaturated fatty acids an oil contains, the faster an oil will go bad.
And the unsaturated fatty acids (e.g. omega-3 fatty acids) are the ones we are looking for !
Tightly closed in the fridge any oil keeps the longest.
In the bathroom, the temperatures vary significantly and therefore it is a rather unfavorable storage place for oils. BUT: the indicated shelf life of 8 months “Costiera Amalfitana” can easily stand.
